Shaw, Dapprich Earn All-Summit Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior forwards Mikaela Shaw and Michaela Dapprich were included on the All-Summit League teams released Thursday.  Shaw earned All-Summit Second-Team honors, while Dapprich collected Honorable Mention honors and a spot on the All-Newcomer team.

Shaw capped her four-year Maverick career as UNO’s second-best scorer (1,755 points).  She was also second in free throws made (373), fourth in field goals made (669), sixth in rebounds (887), eighth in assists (306) and 16th in blocks (51).  In her senior season, Shaw averaged a team-leading 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting .489 from the field.

Shaw finished the regular season ranked fourth in the conference in scoring; including 17.9 points per game in Summit League play, and led the league in field goals made (184) as well as defensive rebounds (162).  She was second in total rebounds (220), third in assists (107) and fifth in free throws made (105).  Shaw earned one Summit League Player of the Week honor this season on Dec. 19.  She closed the year with 28 double-figure scoring games, including nine with 20 or more points.

Dapprich was fifth in the Summit League with 161 made field goals and 10th in points with 398.  She averaged 13.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per contest, starting all 29 games.  A native of Branson, Mo., Dapprich had 19 double-figure scoring games, including seven with 20 or more points.

Omaha opens postseason play on Sunday, March 5 at the Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D.  The fifth-seeded Mavericks take on fourth-seeded South Dakota at Noon from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.  The game will be televised on Midco and ESPN3.
