OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team returns to South Dakota for the SDSU Indoor Classic hosted by South Dakota State on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11.
Events begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and 9:45 a.m. on Saturday from the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Sophomore Anna Edet put up the third-best weight throw mark in school history, leading a string of personal bests at the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet at South Dakota last weekend.
Edet had a throw of 53-05, a personal best mark that ties her with Liz Thompson for third at UNO all-time. It’s the third time this year that she has put up a mark that ranks among the top six in school history. Edet took take third in the event.
Maddy Partridge put up a season-best mark of 47-00 ¼ in the weight throw to finish ninth. Lauren Doeschot was 10th at 46-05 ½, and Kristen Leisinger was 11th at 44-11 ¾, both personal bests.
The Mavericks will compete in two meets next week, their last competition before the Summit League Championship. They will be at the USD Twilight in Vermillion, S.D. on Friday, Feb. 17. On the same day, they’ll also take part in the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln.
