OMAHA, Neb. – Senior midfielder Mark Moulton was named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Men’s Soccer First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Tuesday.

“This is a well-deserved honor and incredible accomplishment for Mark and the program,” said head coach Jason Mims.  “I am so happy for him and very proud of his career on and off the field.  Mark is an excellent representation of our athletic department, university, and community.”

Moulton appeared in all 19 games with 18 starts at midfield in his senior season, tallying seven points on two goals and three assists.  He earned Second Team All-Summit League honors this season and tied a conference tournament single-game record with two assists against Eastern Illinois.  He helped Omaha claim a share of the regular-season Summit League title in 2014 and 2016 and garnered first team All-Summit accolades in 2014 and 2015.

A product of Creighton Prep, Moulton carries a 3.96 grade-point average with a major in business administration.  He is a member of the UNO Dean’s List, the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence and the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

Moulton is the first Mavericks men’s soccer player named to an Academic All-America First Team and is the only Omaha men’s soccer player to earn Academic All-America honors.
