Mavericks Ninth After Two Rounds at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Omaha women’s golf team is in ninth place after the first two rounds of the GCU Invitational hosted by Grand Canyon.

The Mavericks shot team scores of 320 and 326 over the first 36 holes to post a score of 646.  Portland State leads the tournament with a score of 581.  Seattle is second at 595, and UAB is third at 600.

Megan Vetrovsky led the Mavericks on day one with rounds of 76 and 77 to sit at 153, good for a tie for 21st.

Samantha Chong and Mandy Boyle are tied for second on the team and tied for 44th overall with scores of 165.  Chong shot 84 and 81 while Boyle carded rounds of 78 and 87.

Sami Langford shot 88 and 81 in the first two rounds for a total of 169 that has her fourth on the team and 50th overall.  One behind is Jordan York who shot rounds of 82 and 88 for a score of 170.

The final round is tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT.
