Mavs Picked Sixth in Summit Preseason Poll

Omaha Athletics | January 15, 2014

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha men's tennis team has been picked to finish sixth in the second year of Summit League competition, the conference office announced on Wednesday. The poll was determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Conference newcomer Denver was picked to win the conference after receiving five first-place votes for a total of 25 points. The Pioneers come into the 2014 season nationally ranked 57th and return three letter winners from last year’s WAC championship team. IUPUI, which received the only other first-place vote, finished second with 19 points. South Dakota State (18) and Fort Wayne (14) finished third and fourth, while Western Illinois (8) and Omaha (6) rounded out the poll.

The Mavericks begin the season on January 31 at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center against Nebraska Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
