Tran Honored As Academic All-League
OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha junior Alex Tran has been named to the 2013 Summit League Women's Tennis Academic All-League Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Tran is one of five student-athletes tapped for the team, which was selected in a vote of the Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors of the league's nine member institution. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season.
Tran carries a 3.755 grade-point average in biology. She posted a 4-2 record in conference play this season, Omaha's first as a member of the Summit League, and she finished with 10 overall victories in 2013.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), have completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and have participated in at least 50 percent of her team's competition.
