OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men’s tennis team has been chosen fourth in the Summit League Preseason Poll, the conference office announced. The poll was determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Denver received four first-place votes for a total of 16 points. Oral Roberts (13) finished second and received one first-place vote, while IUPUI (nine) was third. Omaha (seven) came in fourth, and South Dakota State (five) rounded out the poll.

The Mavericks were 11-15 (2-3 Summit League) a year ago and qualified for the Summit League Championship. They return seven letterwinners, including the top three singles players, from the 2016 squad.
The 2017 dual season begins Jan. 13 with Oral Roberts hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff. League play begins Feb. 11 when Denver hosts South Dakota State. The Summit League Championship is hosted by IUPUI, April 28-29 in Indianapolis.
