Maverick Serve-A-Thon Women's Tennis Fundraiser Set for Jan. 13

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha women's tennis team will host its first Maverick Serve-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 13 at Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center. Funds raised will support the program's travel budget and equipment purchases.

The 2016-17 Maverick squad will hit 1,000 serves during the event, with supporters pledging a designated amount per serve made. The Serve-A-Thon will be streamed live on the team's Facebook page at Facebook.com/OmahaWTEN starting at 3 p.m.

Checks may be made payable to the University of Nebraska Foundation, designating Omaha Women's Tennis (01117190), and should be submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 1. Online donations are open at NUFoundation.org.

Omaha opens the 2017 spring season on Friday, Jan. 20, visiting Green Bay at 7 p.m.
