Alihodzic, Rinderknecht Earn NSCAA All-Region Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior midfielder Fazlo Alihodzic and freshman defender Seth Rinderknecht were named to the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s All-West Region second team, the NSCAA announced.

Alihodzic led the Mavericks with 25 points from nine goals and seven assists and was named the Summit League’s Offensive Player of the Year. Rinderknecht had six points from two goals and two assists in his rookie campaign and earned first-team all-league honors.

The West region consists of schools from the WAC, the Missouri Valley, and the Summit League.

The Mavericks earned the top seed in the Summit League postseason tournament and reached the tournament finals for the first time in program history after capturing a share of the regular-season title. Omaha finished the 2016 campaign with an overall record of 10-5-4 and went 5-0-1 in the Summit League.
