NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Omaha men’s golf team took 11th place at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate hosted on Tuesday.
Ben Maskus and Kevin Gordon both shot three-over-par final-round scores of 74 to lead the Mavericks in round three. Maskus led the Mavericks in scoring with a 54-hole total of 225 to finish in a tie for 21st out of 81 golfers. His final round included an eagle on the par-five 15th hole.
Gordon finished in a tie for 32nd with a score of 230.
The Mavericks posted a team score of 929 at the Richland Country Club. Host Lipscomb won the event with a score of 859. Ole Miss was second at 862, and Chattanooga took third at 892.
Mitch Ryan was third for the Mavericks and 54th overall with a score of 236. He carded a final round of 78. David Huxham was 71st with a total of 245 that included a final round of 84.
Kelly Brown concluded the scoring for UNO. He shot 86 on Tuesday to finish at 247.
The Mavericks will now prepare for the Summit League Championships which will be held on Sunday-Tuesday, April 30-May 2 at Newton, Kan.
