GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Omaha women’s golf team sits in 12th place after the first two rounds of the Bobcat Desert Invitational hosted by Montana State.
Junior Megan Vetrovsky is the Mavericks’ leading scorer with a total of 150 that has her tied for 12th. She shot two-over-par 74 in the first round, a score that included a birdie on the 505-yard eighth hole. She also shot 76 in the second round.
The Mavericks posted team scores of 315 and 319 for a total of 634 over the first 36 holes. Cal Poly leads the event at the Golf Club of Estrella with a team score of 581. Portland State is second at 599, and Eastern Washington is third, one stroke back.
Mandy Boyle is second for the Mavericks and is tied for 43rd in the field of 77 golfers with a total score of 160 that included rounds of 81 and 79. She’s two strokes ahead of teammates Jordan York and Sami Langford who both sit at 162. Both carded rounds of 80 and 82 to put them in a tie for 52nd.
Samantha Chong concluded the scoring for the Mavericks with rounds of 84 and 82 for a total of 166.
The final round begins at 9:45 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
