GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Omaha women’s golf team took sixth at the Bama Beach Bash on Sunday afternoon.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 315 in the final round to finish the 54-hole tournament with a score of 938. West Florida won the event with a score of 896. Co-host Alabama Birmingham was second at 914, one stroke ahead of West Georgia in third.
Megan Vetrovsky led the Mavericks in scoring with a career-best total of 223 that included a final round of 77. She finished seventh in the field of 51 golfers.
Jordan York fired UNO’s best round on Sunday, a score of 76 over the par-72 layout at Gulf Shores Golf Club, to finish at 237, good for a tie for 28th.
Sami Langford was third on the team and was 30th overall with a score of 238. She shot 81 on Sunday. Mandy Boyle also fired an 81 in the closing round to finish fourth on the team with a total of 243. She was 35th overall.
Samantha Chong completed the scoring for UNO with a score of 249 that featured a final round card of 86. She was 41st.
Haley Wineman, playing as an individual, shot 276 for the tournament.
The Mavericks are back on the course at the Little Rock/ASU Women’s Golf Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 27-28.
