Men's Tennis Signs Five-Star Recruit

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's tennis coach Tyson Thomas announced the signing of five-star recruit Razvan Grigorescu today.  Grigorescu joins Luke Moorhead, Diego Cruz-Vespa and Nathan Reekie in this season's recruiting class.

"We are very excited to announce that Razvan will be joining the Omaha men's tennis team next fall," said Thomas, who is in his second year as head coach of the Mavericks.  "His upside is huge and I feel there are no limits to what he can accomplish at Omaha. In addition to being an outstanding tennis player, Razvan is a tremendous person who will fit in great with our team and with the culture we are building as a program."

Grigorescu, a 6-4 right-hander, is ranked No. 12 in the state of Texas and No. 16 in the Gulf States region as well as No. 146 in the country, according to TennisRecruiting.net.  He has been ranked as high as No. 9 in the U.S. in 2015, by TennisRecruiting.net.  Grigorescu is the highest rated recruit in the recent history of Omaha men's tennis.

The Mavericks finished their season with an 11-15 record and advanced to the Summit League Tournament semifinals this year.
