Indoors, was limited to two events due to injury…had a season-best mark of 5-08 in the high jump at the K-State Winter Invitational (Dec. 10)…outdoors, was the Summit League high jump champion for the second straight year with a season best mark of 5-10 ½ (May 12)…earned All-Summit League honors for her high jump performance…also took fifth in the 100 meter hurdles at the Summit Championships with wind-aided time of 14.43 (May 13)…had a personal-best time of 14.47 in the preliminaries (May 12), her second PR of the season…qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries for the second straight year, finishing in a tie for 21st with mark of 5-08 1/2...was named to the Summit League's Academic All-League Team.
Indoors, earned All-Summit League in both the high jump and the 60 meter hurdles…finished second in the high jump at the Summit League Championship with a jump of 5-05 ¾…placed in third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.95…set a personal high in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.87 during the preliminaries of the Summit League Championship…had a season best high jump of 5-10 and a first-place finish at the SDSU Classic (Feb. 12)…placed in the top four in the high jump in each indoor competition, including first place finishes at the SDSU Classic (Feb. 12) and Jack Jennett Invitational (Jan. 30)...outdoors, was the Summit League champion in the high jump with a leap of 5-07, earning All-Summit honors (May 13)…became the first Omaha track & field athlete to qualify for NCAA championship competition in the Division I era as a result of the win…set a personal best and team season high in the high jump with a height of 5-11 ¼ at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 15), one of two PRs that season and also the top mark in the Summit League for the season…won the high jump in three meets and finished second in three others…also had a team season-best time of 14.99 in the 100 meter hurdles at the Long Beach Invitational (April 16)...a member of the Summit League Academic Honor Roll, a Distinguished Scholar and a member of the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence.
Set the school's indoor high jump record in her second collegiate meet with a mark of 5-10 ¾ at the Holiday Inn Invitational (Jan. 17)…took second in the high jump at the Summit League Championships with a jump of 5-07 ¼, earning her all-league recognition…also had UNO's best time in the 60 meter hurdles with a PR of 9.13 in the preliminaries of the Summit League Championship (Feb. 27)…took fifth in the 60 meter hurdles at the Summit Championships with a time of 9.23 (Feb. 28)…in the triple jump, had a personal best leap of 36-09 ¼ at the K-State Winter Invitational (Dec. 13)…during the outdoor season, again had UNO's best high jump mark with a personal best jump of 5-09 ¾ at the Dakota Duels (April 4)…finished third at the Summit League Championships in the event with a mark of 5-07 ¼, earning her all-league honors…also put up UNO's best time in the 100 meter hurdles with a clocking of 14.87, a personal best, at the Nebraska Invitational (May 9)...became UNO's first NCAA track & field qualifier, competing in the NCAA West Preliminaries in the high jump...a member of the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.
Was a four-year letter winner in track & field at Lincoln Southwest High School...was a medalist in each year at the state championship...as a senior, helped the Silverhawks to the state championship by winning the 100 meter hurdles and finishing third in both the high jump and the triple jump...as of graduation, was the school's record holder in the high jump with a mark of 5-07 1/2...was the Lincoln Journal Star female track & field athlete of the year and honored as a member of Southwest's athletic hall of fame...finished in the top six in the high jump in the state championship in each year with a career-best second place medal as a junior.
Born June 18, 1996...daughter of Bob Ahrens and Joan Casey...has one brother, Paul...plays the piano and French horn and is a member of UNO's top orchestra...majoring in architectural engineering.
